INVESTMENT GUIDE
Our goal is for you to be happy with your design and products for years to come. We source from manufacturers we know and trust - manufacturers who stand behind the quality of their products. More often than not, cheaper products just mean you will need to replace them more often, often leading to a greater expense in the longrun.
PRODUCT PRICING TIERS
TIER 1 - Mass Produced Retail
3-5 Year Investment
These are pieces you’d find at retailers like Home Depot, Crate & Barrel, West Elm, or Pottery Barn. They’re readily available, often with short lead times (4–8 weeks), and are mass-produced. Materials tend to be more economical, such as thin veneers and less durable surfaces. These manufacurers typically do not stand behind their products - faulty products typically come at the expense of the customer. Customization is limited and usually comes with an up-charge. They function well as filler pieces (accessories, table lamp, drink table, pillows) or for light-use spaces.
TIER 2 - Quality Retail & Semi-Custom
7-10+ Year Investment
With pricing just a step up from mass produced retail, these are quality, entry-level pieces found in designer-only showrooms and select high-end retailers (such as Restoration Hardware, Design Within Reach, and Blu Dot). Bench-made with an emphasis on craftsmanship and finishing details, they offer a range of custom options. These manufacturers have closer relationships with the designer and are trusted to stand behind their products. Lead times typically run 8–16+ weeks, or longer for European production. They’re the reliable workhorses of well-made interiors.

TIER 3 - Custom & Designer
15+ Year to Lifetime Investment
With pricing often similar to semi-custom options, these pieces are designed for clients with high standards and are sourced through specialty fabricators and designer-only showrooms. Fully customizable and crafted with expert detail, they’re made from solid, exceptional materials to meet your exact needs. These are typically natural & handmade materials as well as the ability for a piece to be later refinished, reupholstered, and repurposed. We trust these companies to stand behind their products in the long run. Built to last for generations, they become the kind of heirlooms design lovers pass down. Lead times range from 16–20+ weeks.
